HELLO, I'm Chris

My journey into the world of design started early, inspired by my childhood passions for music and skateboarding. From a young age, I found myself obsessing over the branding, clothing, and art direction of my favorite bands and skateboard companies. I really wanted to learn how to create images like that of my favorite album covers, flyers and skateboard graphics, which led me to start tinkering with analog design methods and eventually translating that to digital spaces. I've been graciously given many opportunities to freelance as a graphic designer, working with clients to design marketing content and merchandise.

Over the last decade, I've held managerial and operational roles within the hospitality industry, where I've further developed my communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Working with food all these years has put me alongside the hardest working people I think I will ever meet in my life. It's a beautiful thing to see someone prepare food so efficiently that you can't even wrap your head around how they're able to move so many parts so gracefully and quickly. It motivates me to keep calm and find patience in our working lives even when that looks impossible.

Beyond designing and working in the food industry, I'm an avid movie enthusiast. I've had some incredible opportunities to work on crews making features, shorts and music videos. Storytelling is a beautiful thing. I am endlessly fascinated by the visual language that surrounds us. As I studied further into other modes of design and design history, it became clear that my deep understanding of the visual language of film lent itself to a greater overall comprehension of how to execute ideas as a designer.

I'm a perpetual learner with a strong desire to continually develop and refine my skills. My ultimate goal is to unearth what motivates other people. I am constantly in awe of the passion and care that people around me are able to share with our world. I believe that through a supportive community, we can collectively help one another shape a better world.
